Zion Williamson is an optimistic guy, but he can’t help but be disappointed to another lackluster season for the New Orleans Pelicans.
After playing their final regular season game and finishing 11th in the West–just outside the play-in tournament spots–Williamson offered a rather harsh assessment of the team and their performance. While they looked like they were close to making it to the playoffs, the All-Star forward admitted that it’s not really the case and they have a lot of things lacking to compete.
“I’m not going to sit here and say we’re close,” Williamson said, per Christian Clark of NOLA.com. “The reality of it is it was very disappointing not to be a part of the play-in tournament and stuff. But we just have to come in and be better. That’s just me being real.”
