Real Madrid president Florentino Perez made promises to Zinedine Zidane that he would heavily invest in the summer transfer window in order to convince the Frenchman to return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Zidane was named as Real manager just 10 months after leaving the club.

Having won three consecutive Champions League titles with the La Liga giants, Zidane was aware a major overhaul was required and he opted to walk away from the post with Perez preferring to stick with a squad that had won Europe’s top competition in four of the last five seasons.

But after a disastrous Champions League exit at the hands of Ajax, Perez was convinced that the squad does indeed need a serious overhaul and will now pursue some huge names in the summer.
