The Minnesota Vikings would finish just one game away from the Super Bowl this past season. But head coach Mike Zimmer knows that’s not good enough. He also knows how important the quarterback position is. And the Vikings are about to see all three of Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford hit free agency. But how much pressure does Zimmer believe there is on him? “It’s important for myself and Rick (Spielman) and the organization we pick the right guy that can help us continue to move forward. If we don’t do that, then I’ll probably get fired.” Zimmer, of course, is a defense-first coach. But the Vikings are in a special spot right now. Their window is open; they just need to take that next step. That’s where Zimmer comes in. “We’ve won 40 games in the last four years because we’ve had a good football team, and I want to make sure with our team that we continue to build and improve, continually improve on defense. They told me today … we’re 30-4 when we score 21 points, so it’s important that we don’t lose the defensive part of the game because we keep the game close. So all these things become a factor.” But Zimmer doesn’t stop there.
