Manager Ron Roenicke just told us that right-hander Yovani Gallardo has been scratched from his scheduled starting assignment Sunday due to groin tightness that resulted from his last outing. The situation has put into jeopardy Gallardo's status with Mexico in the World Baseball Classic. Roenicke said Gallardo would throw a bullpen session Sunday to test his groin. If he's OK, Gallardo would throw an inning Tuesday in the Brewers' exhibition against Team Canada, even though he'd technically be with Mexico at that point. If Gallardo is OK after that, he will go ahead and pitch for Mexico in the WBC. He was on schedule to start against Team USA next Friday but all of that is up in the air for the present.
