Yoan Moncada's back is still bothering him, and it will likely keep him out for at least the first two games of the White Sox series with the visiting New York Yankees this weekend.
Moncada was removed from Monday night's game against the Washington Nationals with what was described at the time as back spasms. He was out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Nationals, as manager Rick Renteria updated the verbiage to a strain. After Wednesday's off day, Moncada was missing from the White Sox lineup in the series opener against the Yankees on Thursday night.
The third baseman said Thursday that he's still experiencing soreness and that he hopes to return to the lineup Saturday or Sunday.
