They weren’t yelling “Tulo.”
Those were mostly boos Troy Tulowitzki heard from Blue Jays fans the first time he visited their spring training home since Toronto cut him in December.
Tulowitzki played it off.
“I heard a little bit of both,” he said after the Yankees and Blue Jays tied, 1-1, at Dunedin Stadium.
“You know fans. They come to a game, they like to have fun. I like to be out there. You hear it, but I don't pay attention to it. Like I keep saying this whole spring, it's just fun to be out there playing baseball.”
The Blue Jays released the 34-year-old shortstop yet will still have to pay him the $38 million remaining on the final two years of his contract.
