All it took was four games for New York Yankees general manager Brian Cashman to begin wheeling and dealing.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports “The New York Yankees are finalizing a trade to acquire infielder Rougned Odor from the Texas Rangers, sources tell ESPN. Texas is expected to absorb almost the entirety of the $27 million owed to Rougned Odor, who’s on his way to the Yankees, per sources. He’s due $12 million this year, $12 million next year and a $3 million buyout on a $13 million club option in 2023.”

USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reports the Yankees made the move to add some infield depth. The Yankees began the season with first baseman Luke Voit on the injured list while recovering from knee surgery. But Odor is likely ticketed for the team’s alternate camp to provide organizational depth.
