At some point between now and the start of spring training, it's probably a good bet that the Yankees will land an impact starting pitcher. While big names--Yu Darvish, Gerrit Cole--continue to make headlines, a smaller name could be the right fit in a trade for general manager Brian Cashman. According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the Yankees have begun to do prep work on Diamondbacks lefty Patrick Corbin. Although Corbin doesn't come with the track record or upside of either Darvish or Cole, he's very good. Plus, with only one year of team control left before free agency the asking price likely wouldn't be as egregious as, say, what Pittsburgh could demand for two years of their ace.
