The Yankees made a slight alteration to their rotation pushing back Phil Hughes (4-13 4.91 ERA) to Monday and moving Andy Pettitte (10-9 4.05 ERA) up to Sunday. Hughes will remain in the rotation despite an abysmal second half but he will not face the hard-hitting Orioles. Instead he’ll face the popgun offense of the Chicago White Sox. In seven starts since the All-Star Break Hughes has a 5.94 ERA. He has not recorded an out in the seventh inning in any of those outings. He gave up another five runs in 4 2/3 innings earlier this week in Toronto.
