GM Brian Cashman is set to expand the team’s managerial search after conducting interviews with a first round of candidates over the past several weeks, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. Former Mets GM and Sirius XM host Steve Phillips reported that Carlos Beltran would be the sixth candidate. It’s unclear if the search will expand beyond that. Beltran told The Post earlier this offseason that he talked with Cashman about the position after he announced his retirement from baseball. It originally appeared the timing would not work out.
