The Skip Prosser Classic has undergone a scheduling facelift. What started as a 10-year series between Xavier and Wake Forest basketball programs coached by the late Prosser has become a four-year scheduling loop with two years on and two years off starting in the 2015-16 season. Instead of playing continuously for the remaining six years of the original contract, the teams will meet two years in a row starting in Dec. 22, 2015 at Wake Forest. The Demon Deacons will return to Cintas Center Dec. 17, 2016. Then they'll take a two-year break and restart the series in 2019-20. The agreement will repeat indefinitely and seems to fit better into the programs' schedules. "Although both institutions have endured significant change with respect to the ever shifting conference landscape, all parties involved viewed the continuation of this series as non-negotiable," Xavier athletic director Greg Christopher said. The series was designed to honor Prosser, who coached at XU from 1985-2001 (head coach from 1994-2001) and led Wake from 2001 until his death in 2007.
