The Xavier Musketeers were one of the worst three-point shooting teams in high-major basketball during the 2018-19 season. Head Coach Travis Steele was clearly well aware of that weakness, and made it focus to improve perimeter shooting in the 2019 recruiting class, and he wanted to double down on that in the 2020 class as well.

On Friday, Steele and his staff got big news when one of the top perimeter shooters in the class made his decision to pick the Musketeers.

C.J. Wilcher, the No. 113 ranked player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, picked the Musketeers over offers from Seton Hall, St. John’s, Pittsburgh and others following his official visit to the school.
