Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts will be an All-Star, after all.

Major League Baseball announced Wednesday that Bogaerts, Tampa Bay Rays rookie Brandon Lowe, and Minnesota Twins right-hander Jose Berrios will serve as injury replacements for the American League at next week's Midsummer Classic.

They will take the spots of Los Angeles Angels infielder Tommy La Stella, Twins starter Jake Odorizzi, and Texas Rangers outfielder Hunter Pence.

Bogaerts, an All-Star in 2016, was taken aback when he realized he wouldn't be voted in as a starter. He was then left off the reserve list when initial rosters were announced.
