WVU wide receiver Marcus Simms was arrested and charged Aug. 13 with DUI and driving a license suspended or revoked for DUI. According to the criminal complaint, Simms’ vehicle was pulled over by Monongalia County Deputy Sheriff E. Mongold because a taillight was out. When Mongold approached the vehicle, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana and noticed Simms’ eyes were “glassy and bloodshot.” Simms’ speech was slurred and he stated that his license was revoked because of a previous DUI arrest. Paperwork provided showed that Simms was arrested in May in Maryland for DUI, but the case had not yet gone to court. Simms failed his sobriety tests and was arrested.
