Head coach Steve Hawkins confirmed Tuesday night that junior guard Hayden Hoerdemann and freshman wing player Leo Svete have left the Western Michigan University men's basketball program. Hawkins said both players' departures were heavily based on want for playing time and both players were granted their full release. The two would have to sit out one season due to NCAA transfer rules if they choose to enroll at another Division I school outside of the Mid-American Conference. If they choose a school in the MAC they would have to sit two seasons. Both could play immediately if they choose to play at the D-II or D-III levels. In Svete's case, he could choose to play at a junior college next season and he could be recruited to play at a Division I school in 2015.
