Trey Sanders, the nation’s No. 1 running back, was included last Friday as one of six 5-star recruits who are seriously considering the Gators. Sanders made a surprise visit to Florida on Saturday, watching the second open practice and touring the campus with his mother and older brother, junior college linebacker Umstead Sanders. The 5-star RB told SEC Country he likes the new coaching staff and plans to return to Florida in the future. It won’t just be for a recruiting trip, either. Sanders’ brother announced his commitment to the Gators on Sunday. He will join the program this summer as a preferred walk-on and also received interest from Texas A&M, which hosted him for an official visit on Feb. 2. The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Sanders is ranked as the nation’s No. 15 outside linebacker and No. 192 overall recruit in 247Sports’ JUCO rankings. He will have a chance to contribute at Florida’s linebacker position.
