In a game straight out of Bizarro land, the Wild beat the St. Louis Blues 4-2 tonight. It was the first win for the Wild in a match against the Blues in 10 games. Kyle Brodziak scored not one, but two goals. In the opponents net, and with an actual goalie in said net. An OLYMPIC goalie even. Matt Cooke pulled a penalty. John Curry was freaking fantastic (more on him later). The one very big downside to tonight's game was Mike Rupp. His hit on T.J. Oshie is inexcusable, even if it wasn't head hunting. From the video I've seen, Oshie had no way to know the hit was coming, and forget protect himself. Also, please stop using the "Bollig on Parise hit makes it ok." That's not how this works. Ken Hitchcock said after the game that Oshie is day to day, and that it was a hard hit for him to take. Regardless, Rupp will get a call from the league and at least a fine, if not a suspension. Either way, Rupp is likely done in a Wild jersey this season. Ryan Suter only played 11:19 tonight. Mike Yeo pulled Suter, Mikko Koivu, Zach Parise and Jason Pominville at the beginning of the 3rd period in what he called a response to the Blues level of emotions.
