The White Sox offered salary arbitration to free-agent pitcher Mark Buehrle, but declined to offer arbitration to outfielder Juan Pierre, the club announced Wednesday. Chicago will receive Draft pick compensation between the first and second round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft if Buehrle -- a Type B free agent -- declines arbitration and signs with another club. Buehrle made $14 million last season, but is not expected to accept arbitration, as he's likely to command a multiyear deal as a free agent.
