Jake Peavy is a close second behind Texas Rangers right-hander Yu Darvish in the Final Vote balloting for a spot on the American League All-Star team. ''Win, lose or draw, I can't thank enough the city, the people all over the country who showed their love and support,'' said Peavy (6-5), who has a 2.96 ERA in 1122/3 innings and easily could have nine or 10 victories with better run support. ''It really means a lot to me after what I've been through here.'' Peavy is healthy for the first time after he had a torn lat muscle surgically reattached in July 2010. Balloting ends at 3 p.m. Thursday. The White Sox are promoting a TakeJake campaign. Vote totals aren't released, but Major League Baseball said Peavy trailed Darvish by ''a slim margin.''
