The White Sox have acquired outfielder Casper Wells from the A's in exchange for cash, according to a press release. To make room for Wells on the 40-man roster, left-handed pitcher Leyson Septimo was transferred to the 60-day disabled list. This will be Wells’ fourth team this season, starting the season with Seattle before being claimed off waivers by the Blue Jays on April 10. The 28-year-old was then designated for assignment by the Blue Jays on April 15 and traded to the A's on April 22 in return for cash considerations. He played in three games with Oakland, going 0-5, before being designated for assignment on April 28. Wells is a career .244 hitter with 25 home runs and 80 RBI in 244 games over four major-league seasons. Septimo was placed on the 15-day disabled list on March 26 with a left shoulder strain and assigned to Charlotte on a rehab assignment on April 26.
