Western Michigan football will temporarily be without its headman. In person, at least.

WMU football coach Tim Lester tested positive for COVID-19 after experiencing "mild symptoms" Sunday, according to a Tuesday news release from the program.

"Thankfully, due to being fully vaccinated, I am feeling OK," Lester said in the statement. "Our program has practiced, and will continue to practice athletic department safety guidelines and protocols. ... I look forward to overcoming the adversity from this positive test result."

The positive comes just days after WMU beat Pittsburgh for its first Power Five victory of Lester's tenure. Lester indicated that he'd be away from the team until next week, but can still meet with his players and staff virtually.
