This is not exactly stop the presses stuff, unless you put it in context. Jevon Carter is returning to West Virginia next year. The rising senior guard did put his name into the NBA to get a report on just where he stood, but, his game has not yet grown to the point on the offensive end that he is ready to go toe-to-toe with Isaiah Thomas or James Harden. Even though he did enter the draft without signing with an agent, Carter was not invited to the NBA Combine, which was another indication that his time had not yet come, as was his enrollment in summer school. Carter knew it going in and so did everyone else ... but then again weren’t we all caught with our knickers down last year when Devin Williams closed up that textbook, said goodbye to the coeds for the final time and decided to turn professional.
