West Ham have reportedly decided to put Issa Diop up for sale, amid rumours that he could join Tottenham this summer.
Foot Mercato claimed in May that Spurs wanted to sign Diop, and that the central defender was willing to move to north London.
Sky Sports now reports that the Hammers want £45million for the imposing defender. Adding that they will accept an offer from their London rivals if it matches their valuation.
Diop has previously impressed Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese said the centre-back performed like a ‘monster’ against his Manchester United side back in 2018.
West Ham boss David Moyes is looking to bring in a more experienced centre-back this summer. And that has led to the reports that the former Toulouse star could be sacrificed.
Mourinho is the market for a new central defender after Jan Vertonghen was allowed to leave on a free transfer. There are also doubts over Juan Foyth’s long-term future at the club.
Norwich star Ben Godfrey has also been mentioned as a target, but Diop has more top-flight experience to his name.
