West Ham are back in negotiations with crisis-torn Southampton for striker Rickie Lambert. The London club are willing to pay £7million for the England international but have yet to agree to his financial demands. The deal is some way from being concluded but Southampton have indicated they are willing to sell and that is music to West Ham’s ears as they seek to add more firepower to their relegation battle. The news will come as another blow to Southampton fans following Nicola Cortese's resignation as chairman while the future of manager Mauricio Pochettino is in doubt. The Hammers were initially interested in Lambert last month. And Sam Allardyce has moved to bolster a misfiring West Ham side who have managed just 21 goals in as many games. Lacina Traore has been given the green light to join on loan after the Home Office granted the 6ft 8in striker a work permit.
