West Ham United may look to sign Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien if Mohamed Diame leaves the club, it has emerged. SportsDirect News learned yesterday that Diame is considering his future at Upton Park after a difficult season so far for Sam Allardyce's side, with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur ready to pounce. The departure of the Senegalese international would leave the Hammers desperately short in midfield, and it is now believed that Allardyce could look to bring in Essien, possibly on loan, to help fill that role.
