West Bromwich Albion look likely to earn promotion to the Premier League next season — whether by the Championship playing out the rest of their season or ending it prematurely and awarding positions based on points-per-game — but like most newcomers, will need strengthening if they are to survive in the top flight.

To that effect, The Athletic has run through the team position by position, identifying areas of improvement and potential targets for reinforcement. In midfield, one of the players named as potentially helpful is Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher, currently on loan (and doing well) at Swansea City after starting the season on loan at Charlton Athletic.

The report claims that West Brom are “big admirers” and would offer him first-team football straight away if he were to join on loan.
