Vydra joined the Hornets on a season-long loan from Italian side Udinese and scored 20 times as they narrowly missed out on automatic promotion before losing the Championship play-off final to Crystal Palace. Watford have not been able to tie down a permanent move for the 21-year-old forward and the Hammers and Black Cats both remained interested in acquiring his considerable goalscoring talents. But West Brom have managed persuade him to move to the Hawthorns to join an attack which also contains new recruit Nicolas Anelka. Udinese would rather sell Vydra than send him out on loan again but it appears they have stuck a deal with the Midlanders who will make the deal permanent if he transfers his skills to the Premier League.
