Thought it’s a slow day in NFL circles, it’s a big day in American horse racing, with Kentucky’s Keeneland Racecourse and Arkansas’ Oaklawn Park hosting multiple key stakes races. In the first of Keeneland’s stakes races Saturday, Broncos slot receiver Wes Welker had an entrant: four-year-old gelding Undrafted, a three-time career winner. However, Undrafted could not add to his tally of victories, as he finished fifth, beaten by close to three lengths, in the Grade 2, $175,000 Commonwealth, Keeneland’s seventh race of the day. According to the official Equibase chart of the race, Undrafted “was bumped at the start, settled between horses, came three wide and finished with a mild rally.”
