As the NFL world reacted to ex-Washington quarterback Alex Smith's retirement, the Burgundy and Gold made a small, yet still notable, transaction involving an intriguing former draft pick who simply never panned out.

On Monday afternoon, the organization announced that it was waiving Bryce Love, a fourth-round selection from 2019. Love tore his ACL on what would prove to be the final play of his college career at Stanford, and setbacks from that injury have prevented his pro career from getting on track.

Unfortunately, the 23-year-old will leave Washington without a single, meaningful snap on his résumé.
