The Golden State Warriors gave us an update regarding Stephen Curry’s status on Tuesday as he attempts to return from a sprained ankle the two-time MVP suffered in early December. The update itself indicated that Curry will be evaluated again on Friday, a clear indication that he might be able to return for the team’s game against his hometown Charlotte Hornets that night. One day later, and the Warriors are telling us a different story. According to general manager Bob Myers, it’s unlikely Curry will suit up on Friday. “He might miss Charlotte twice,” Myers said told 95.7 The Game. “I don’t know. I think it’s unlikely, to be honest. I don’t think he’ll play Friday. We have a back-to-back and so that would put him right into a back-to-back situation, which probably is not good for any player coming off a (long absence).” The Warriors will also take on Memphis Saturday, which could now be the team’s new target date for Curry’s return.
