The Carolina Hurricanes now have beaten the Stanley Cup champions twice in less than a week. The Canes, mixing hard work with some fisticuffs, topped the Boston Bruins 4-1 at TD Garden. Anthony Stewart and Joni Pitkanen each have two goals for the Canes this season, and all four have come against the Bruins as Carolina leads 2-0 after two. Eric Staal and Tuomo Ruutu each had 5-on-3 power-play goals in the third period as the Bruins came unhinged. Stewart's goal at 2:47 of the first period gave the Canes a 1-0 lead after the first period. Stewart knocked in the rebound of a Brett Sutter shot after sustained pressure in the Bruins' zone by the Canes' fourth line.
