There are rumors that former Colorado Rockies manager Walt Weiss will be joining the Atlanta Braves coaching staff under manager Brian Snitker, possibly as the club’s bench coach, league sources have informed FanRag Sports. Nothing is official and there are believed to be other candidates in mind, but Weiss’ name is definitely in the mix, one source said.’s Mark Bowman was first to report the possibility of Weiss joining the Braves. Weiss notably spent four seasons as the manager of the Rockies, going 283-365 (.437) while failing to reach the postseason. Weiss was fired in 2016 before ultimately being replaced with veteran manager Bud Black, who led the Rockies to the playoffs in 2017. However, the National League West ball club was knocked out in the wild card round at the hands of the rival Arizona Diamondbacks.
