Minnesota forward Wally Ellenson of Rice Lake has transferred to Marquette and will have two years of eligibility remaining after sitting out this season. Which raises the question: Will Wally's brother, Henry, follow him to Marquette? Henry Ellenson is a 6-foot-9 power forward going into his senior season at Rice Lake. He is being recruited by most of the major powers, including Duke, North Carolina and UCLA. Henry visited Marquette last week. He's such a major recruit that new MU president Mike Lovell even got in on the process. "I’d love to play with my brother," Wally said. "He’s a very good player. But I’m a brother first. I made my decision and now he’s got to make his. It would be great if we were at the same school, but he’s got to look at all his opportunities and go from there." As for Wally, the 6-foot-6 forward was known more for his track career with the Gophers. Ellenson is a two-time All-America in the high jump and was runner-up in the event in 2013-14 at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. His personal-best mark of 2.25 meters (7-04.50 ft.) at the national meet was the second-best outdoor mark in Minnesota history.
