Von Miller continued his aggressive recruitment of Kirk Cousins this week by proclaiming the Denver Broncos would become Super Bowl contenders simply by signing the soon-to-be free agent quarterback. Miller, who has had to qualms about making comments about how the Broncos should bring in Cousins, made his most recent pitch during an appearance Tuesday on ESPN’s “First Take.” “He’s just that type of player,” Miller said of Cousins, as transcribed by The Denver Post. “He not only would be a difference-maker to my team, but any team he goes to in the National Football League. It’s an instant upgrade, leadership, he can throw and make all the passes on the field. So, yeah, when you get a guy like that, you’re automatically in Super Bowl contention.” The Broncos lack the financial flexibility other NFL teams boast in pursuing Cousins, who will command a monstrous, perhaps unprecedented payday. But that has not stopped Miller from stating the Broncos’ case.
