Villanova and Jay Wright are coming off of a dominant run to a national championship, and it should be no surprise that things are going well on the recruiting trail. On Tuesday the Wildcats reeled in one of the best players in the area in four-star power forward Eric Dixon who announced the decision at his school. Dixon, who is a veteran of USA Basketball and one of the most intriguing players in the class, chose Villanova over scholarship offers from Virginia, Louisville and Seton Hall. This is the first commitment for Wright and his staff in the 2019 class, and one that they have worked hard for throughout the year. While Dixon is a local product, he is one of that they had to put in a lot of work for, and ultimately they were able to get things done before the April evaluation period. By getting Dixon done in a timely manner, this allows the Wildcats to focus their efforts on a smaller group of prospects heading into the critical upcoming evaluation period.
