The Vikings closed out the Metrodome with a victory, but was it enough to save coach Leslie Frazier's job? Fox Sports reported before kickoff the team would fire Frazier, whose club rallied from a six-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Detroit. Rookie sensation Cordarrelle Patterson ran for a 50-yard touchdown, the longest ever by a Vikings wide receiver, and hauled in an 8-yard scoring pass from Matt Cassel with 9:22 remaining. Reggie Bush's 19-yard touchdown reception and a pair of David Akers field goals gave the Lions a 13-7 lead early in the fourth. But Marcus Sherels' 50-yard punt return to the Lions' 8-yard line set up Patterson's go-ahead TD.
