Saying that the last thing he wants "to be is a distraction," Michael Vick spoke to The Inquirer on Tuesday about the possibility that he may no longer be the Eagles' starting quarterback. Vick has missed the last two games after he re-aggravated his hamstring in the first quarter of the N.Y. Giants game. In his place, Nick Foles has bounced back from a disappointing performance against the Cowboys and led the Eagles to back-to-back victories. While Chip Kelly has not deemed Foles his starter, he did intimate on Monday that he planned to stick with the hot hand. But until Vick is 100 percent, there has been no reason for him to name his starter. Vick was limited at practice on Tuesday and isn't expected to be ready for Sunday's game against the Redskins. In a one-on-one interview, Vick spoke about his injury, the starting quarterback spot and his future: HAS IT BEEN TOUGH NOT BEING ABLE TO PLAY THE LAST TWO WEEKS? No. I'm enjoying it just like everybody else. Watching this team make progress week-in and week-out, that's what we want. DO YOU HAVE A TIMETABLE ON WHEN YOU'LL BE BACK? Not as of right now. I'm still trying to gain confidence in it to push off of it and to go full speed like I want to. I ain't there yet. DOES THAT MEAN YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PLAY SUNDAY? I wouldn't say that. I'm just in a position where I'm not rushing it just yet. I just got to take it easy. I popped it again last time. That was after coming back after two weeks. I can't risk it. HOW DO YOU THINK NICK FOLES HAS PLAYED? Nick's played great. He's played great, he's played confident. He's playing the way we know he can play and that's important. It's great for this organization, great for this football team. HAVE YOU GOTTEN ANY WORD ON WHAT THE TEAM WILL DO AT QB ONCE YOU GET HEALTHY? No, we haven't talked about it. We haven't gotten that far. DO YOU STILL THINK THAT YOU'RE THE STARTER? I don't know. That's not something that I'm thinking about at this point. The last thing I want to be is a distraction to this team. I'm just working hard to get myself healthy. DO YOU BELIEVE YOU SHOULD LOSE YOUR JOB BECAUSE OF INJURIES? It's only been one injury. YOU'RE ON A ONE-YEAR CONTRACT AND YOU HAVE SIX GAMES LEFT IN THE SEASON. IF YOU DON'T PLAY SUNDAY, THAT'S FIVE. DO YOU THINK THE TEAM, AT SOME POINT, WON'T GO TO YOU ANYMORE BECAUSE OF YOUR EXPIRING CONTRACT? That could be a possibility. I wouldn't rule that out, but at the same time the most important thing for me is to be 100 percent, just in case I'm ever needed again. But right now as far as the verdict and what's going on, I can't tell you.
