Karl Dorrell will be back on a college sideline for the first time in seven years next season. Vanderbilt's Derek Mason announced the hiring of a number of coaches Friday, including the former UCLA coach as his new offensive coordinator. Dorrell went 35-27 in five seasons at UCLA before being fired in 2007. Since then he's spent time as an assistant in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans. The other spots Mason filled out were David Kotulski (defensive coordinator), Charles Bankins (running backs/special teams), Gerry Gdowski (wide receivers) and Keven Lightner (offensive line), Kenwick Thompson (outside linebackers) and Vavae Tata (defensive line).
