Returning to the Flyers' lineup after missing 15 games was the first step to quieting all the critics. At least, that's what James van Riemsdyk is hoping. Van Riemsdyk, who hadn't played since Jan. 12 because of a concussion, was well aware of all the rumors. He knew he was the subject of trade discussions. He saw fans online questioning his work ethic and credibility, insisting he was "playing hurt" to avoid being traded to, say, Toronto or Montreal or Columbus. But now that he's back, the Flyers' 22-year-old winger wants fans to know that wasn't the case at all. He returned Saturday afternoon simply because he was finally up to doing so. "It's funny when people question your character that have never even met you before," he said. "That's one thing I pride myself on, is being a hard-working guy that has a high character. And when people say that about you, you can only just laugh about it and just let it roll off you.
