Danny Briere has a sore shoulder, Tom Sestito is headed for surgery and Zac Rinaldo is still suspended. Desperate for enough healthy forwards to fill four lines, the Flyers might get left wing James van Riemsdyk back for today's game with Pittsburgh. "We'll see," van Riemsdyk said after practicing Friday at Skate Zone. "Maybe." He has missed 15 games with concussion symptoms since last playing Jan. 12, but recently he was cleared for contact and looked good in practices. "Yeah, it's gotten a little bit better," said van Riemsdyk, who has 11 goals and 22 points in 37 games. "We'll see how I feel. You can't really predict how you're going to feel with these things. You just wake up and take each day as it comes." Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren said Wednesday that JVR was "getting close" to returning and that the 22-year-old New Jersey native would return when he was ready. "It isn't up to me," van Riemsdyk said a day later. "It's up to how I feel. I wish it was up to me. If that was the case, I would have been playing a month ago. So it's tough. You don't want to screw around (with it). I think I'm a little better. We'll see."
Van Riemsdyk might give needy Flyers a lift
