La Liga side Valencia are scheming under the hood to land Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud at Mestalla according to reports in The Times. Los Che are looking for a solid replacement for their star forward Roberto Soldado who is destined to depart for North London side Tottenham Hotspur soon. Manager Miroslav Đukić has reportedly sized up Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to fill in for the Spaniard but it is unlikely that the Red Devils would be willing to part with the Mexican especially on event of Wayne Rooney’s uncertain future at Old Trafford. Consequently the Spanish side have commenced charting plans for landing Giroud this summer. Meanwhile Arsenal might themselves not wish to let go of the Frenchman especially given the club’s lack of offensive options. Also despite having £70m in his transfer kitty for the summer manager Arsene Wenger has yet not succeeded in landing any marquee players at the Emirates. Hence it is difficult to visualize the boss parting with Giroud this summer.
