The City striker is entering the final year of his contract and has yet to be offered a new one by the Premier League champions. Manuel Pellegrini wants him to stay - but Valencia are ready to break the bank for him in the wake of their takeover by Singapore businessman Peter Lim. The Spanish club are planning to make a huge splash in the transfer market once their debts are wiped out by Lim. He sees Dzeko, 28, as a key part of his rebuilding programme and is ready to test City's resolve with a bid which could rise to around £25m with add-ons. It is more unwelcome news for the club coming just days after the future of both Yaya Toure and James Milner was thrown into doubt. Dzeko emerged a major player for City at the end of the season, scoring five goals in their last four games to help them win the title. But he was often overlooked earlier in the campaign when Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo were both fit. Valencia believe he could be tempted away by the lure of regular first-team football and are willing to offer him a pay rise to get the deal done. Dzeko is one of six City players whose futures are unclear because their contracts expire next summer. It is understood he will be offered a new two-year deal to stay. But Valencia are willing to offer him a four-year contract.
