Lamont Smith has resigned as head coach of the University of San Diego Toreros men’s basketball team, the school announced Wednesday night. Smith’s resignation comes a day after it was announced that he would not face charges related to his domestic violence arrest a week earlier. Smith was placed on administrative leave by USD on Feb. 26, a day after he was arrested at the airport in Oakland on suspicion of domestic violence, assault with force likely to commit great bodily injury and false imprisonment.
