Kliff Kingsbury left the position he briefly held as USC’s offensive coordinator to take the head coaching job with the Arizona Cardinals, and some are disappointed with the move.

Kingsbury was fired by Texas Tech after posting his third straight losing season. He quickly took a job as the Trojans’ OC even though NFL teams had interest in him as a head coaching candidate. He eventually interviewed with teams and was hired on Tuesday as the Cardinals’ new head coach, getting a four-year deal with a fifth-year option.

Some with the Trojans or committed to the Trojans were excited about working with Kingsbury, including top QB recruit Bryce Young, who will be a senior in the fall. Young’s father said they are “disappointed” by the move, according to Los Angeles Times high school reporter Eric Sondheimer.
