The UConn men’s basketball team has lost Tyler Polley for the season, after he tore his left ACL in practice Friday.
The non-contact injury “occurred during the latter part of practice, and the diagnosis was confirmed after an MRI,” per a release from the school.
“Practice, just something I do every day,” Polley said after UConn’s double-overtime loss to Wichita State on Sunday. “A jump stop. I came down wrong.”
Polley, a 6-foot-7 junior, has been the Huskies’ best 3-point shooter. He had a career best game last Wednesday, with 19 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Tulane. He was averaging 9.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and shooting a team-best 40.5 percent from 3-point range before his injury.
