The two UCLA men’s basketball players who allegedly shoplifted in China alongside LiAngelo Ball will remain suspended throughout the current season, the school announced on Friday. Cody Riley, Jalen Hill and Ball were detained by Chinese authorities in November before they gained their release. All three were suspended indefinitely, although Ball withdrew from the school earlier this month. His father, LaVar Ball, announced LiAngelo and the youngest Ball son, LaMelo, signed with a professional club in Lithuania. UCLA said in a news release to USA TODAY Sports and other outlets that the decision to suspend Riley and Hill for the duration of the 2017-18 season was reached “in conjunction with any disciplinary decision rendered by the University’s Office of Student Conduct.”
