UAB signed one south Florida player for its 2014 recruiting class in Deerfield Beach running back Aeron McNeal. Look for that number to increase this year. Head coach Bill Clark said on National Signing Day that recruiting that area would be a priority. Offensive coordinator Bryant Vincent recruits the area. "That's one of those places where if you get one, you're going to start getting some more," Clark said on Feb. 5. "There's so much talent in south Florida. (McNeal is) a speed guy. You can't have too many of those guys." Miami (Killian) running back Jordan Herrera confirmed to AL.com that Vincent offered him earlier this week. Herrera is a speed guy, listed at 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, and committed to Temple on Feb. 10. He also plays defensive back. Check out his HUDL highlights. According to several reports, Herrera isn't the only player UAB has offered from that area. Miramar safety Herbert Miller, who has committed to FAU, received an offer from UAB. Therrell Gosier, a receiver from Pompano Beach, Fla., got a UAB offer. Gosier is 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds. Check out his HUDL highlights. This guy could even show UAB's Tosin Mehinti a thing or two about blocking shots. Hialeah running back Michael Fredrick picked up an offer, according to Rivals. There are certainly more players UAB is scouting and may be more offers out there. 2015 Signing Day is more than 11 months away.
