After an impressive start to the 2021 MLB season and yet another injury ruining perfect start, Byron Buxton has rejected a contract extension that was offered by the Minnesota Twins. News broke out of the Buxton’s rejection by Ken Rosenthal and Dan Hayes.

Buxton had a great start to the 2021 season where he slashed .369/.409/.767 in just 110 AB’s. However, injuries have sidelined him yet again, when he first suffered a hip injury and then a broken hand.

Getting him a contract was a priority for the Twins, as he is still viewed as a key franchise player. However, after the extension was denied, it is time for the Twins to decide on whether or not to keep him.
