Trevor Bauer was worth every penny in his first start for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Bauer, the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner, took a no-hitter into the seventh inning Friday against the Colorado Rockies during a brilliant start at Coors Field. He struck out nine batters and walked just one over the first six frames.

The Rockies finally got to him in the seventh when Trevor Story opened the frame with a single. Charlie Blackmon and Ryan McMahon then each hit two-run homers that cut Los Angeles' lead to 10-4. Bauer was lifted for David Price after 6 1/3 innings, finishing his night with 10 strikeouts on 96 pitches (67 strikes).
