Veteran defender Trent Cole announced he will retire as a Philadelphia Eagle on Christmas night, when the team plays the Oakland Raiders on ESPN's Monday Night Football. He will serve as the honorary alumni captain for the game. Cole played 10 seasons with the Eagles at defensive end and linebacker and ranks second all time in franchise history with 85.5 sacks. He played two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts (2015-16) after being released by the Eagles in 2014. Cole, 35, was selected to two Pro Bowls (2007, '09) with the Eagles after the team selected him in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2005 NFL draft.
